The department has developed programs which encourage positive interactions with all ages and ethnic backgrounds of the community.

The programs that the department offers are vast and helps to build bridges of communication and understanding within the community and as a result, assists in creating a better quality of life for all citizens.

Citizens Police Academy (CPA)

This is a thirteen-week program designed to give citizens an up close and personal look at the day-to-day operations of the Police Department. This program is currently offered every spring. It's goal is to educate the public on various aspects of police work within the City of West Point. Each week participants have the opportunity to listen to officers from various divisions in the force relate their duties, the training and experience required for that particular division.

Coffee With A Cop

Coffee with a Cop is a community outreach program designed to build relationships between command staff and the community. This program gives citizens an opportunity to meet with their Police Chief to talk with him in an one-on-one setting over a cup of coffee.
